On Tuesday, Hulu released the trailer of the much-anticipated Love, Victor, the followup to the critically acclaimed Love, Simon. The movie will be available on that streaming service on June 19.
The trailer show a diverse cast that includes Michael Cimino as Victor, James Martinez and Rachel Hilson. It also hints at a complex storyline that, unlike Love, Simon, will explore the nuance of coming out to a religious family.
“You’re very lucky, Simon,” Victor says in the trailer. “You have the most perfect accepting parents, supportive friends. For some of us, it’s not that easy.”
The film caused heated debate online in February after Disney+ took it off its platform because they considered the subject matter to be ‘too adult.’
