Joe Biden’s proposed Council of Economic Advisers has some big names, including Cecilia Rouse. Rouse is an economist and the dean of Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs. Earlier this year, she led the letter her university wrote to the government advocating for more COVID-19 relief to help during this economic fallout.

Rouse served on former President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers from 2009-2011 to help the economy recover from the Great Recession. She is a senior editor for a journal focused on research centering policies that affect children. If Joe Biden’s nomination goes through, Rouse would become the first woman of color to chair the Council of Economic Advisers.
