Best known for his role as the food and wine expert on Netflix’s Queer Eye, Antoni Porowski has teamed up with ABC’s Black-ish creator Kenya Barris to develop a romantic comedy. The film titled Boys and Girls is loosely based on Antoni’s real-life dating experiences as someone who is sexually fluid.

The movie is currently being written by Jeff Chan and Andrew Rhymer, the filmmakers behind Hulu’s Plus One.

In 2018, Kenya reportedly signed an 8-figure deal with Netflix to develop TV content for the platform, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The deal came in the aftermath of Barris’s tension with ABC where he allegedly faced creative differences over a politically and racially charged episode of his series Black-ish. The episode was pulled by the network and ultimately led to Kenya’s courting and move to Netflix.

Antoni will reunite with the Fab Five for the fifth season of Queer Eye which is expected to be released this summer on Netflix. Producers have also confirmed the production of season six, which will take place in Texas.
